(1)事業目的
警察等で使用される防弾衣の防弾性と運動性の両立を目的として、既存の防弾衣と同程度以下の重量であり、伸縮性等の運動性を犠牲にすることなく、防弾性能(NIJ 規格の内レベル3又は4を満たしたもの)を高めた高機能防弾衣の研究開発を行う。
(2)事業概要
防弾衣の実現には、防弾材として銃弾の運動エネルギーを減速・停止させるに耐えうる非貫通性機能と、極点(着弾点)に集中する応力を分散する機能である「材料硬さ」と「減衰力・応用分散機能」が求められる。また、防弾衣としての防弾性能と運動性能を両立させるためには、繊維にセラミックや金属製高減衰能ポリマーを付着させる技術(「繊維化」)も求められる。
「材料硬さ」と「減衰力・応用分散機能」については、学校法人東京理科大学の開発したBTCセラミック等に、有限要素法による振動解析方法技術を応用してハイダンピング等の機能を付加するとともに、高減衰能材料生成技術を用いて、防弾材を積層することにより、防弾性能を高めた防弾材を開発する。
「繊維化」については、学校法人東京理科大学の持つ機能性メソポーラスチタニアの結晶性と界面活性技術を応用し、布に対して焼結したセラミックス粒子と金属粒子を付着させて、刀・ナイフの非貫通性をもつ防弾衣を開発する。

2. Business overview

About "Material hardness" and "balancing the damping force applied", BTC ceramics have been developed by Tokyo University of Science, while adding features such as high-damping technology for vibration analysis by finite element method, laminating bulletproof material by techniques which are used to produce high damping materials, to develop enhanced performance of bulletproof body armor material.
"Fibrosis" are applying the technology of functional Mesoporous Titania crystalline and surfactant technology with the Tokyo University of Science, by adhering to the metal particles and ceramic particles sintered to the fabric, to develop a bulletproof clothing with non-penetrating knife blade.
Goal of Feasibility Study is, NIJ 0101.08 standards conformed to pass the test to withstand the Class III, to confirm stopping bullets.
3. Business activities
(1) Development of bulletproof material
Development of BTC ceramic basis bulletproof material, after its completion, the prototype for the fiber used in bulletproof clothing, we make the fabric material of ceramic particles bonded metal to sewing. B4C and TiB2 sintered composite material which has been produced for BTC ceramics.
(2) American technology research for bulletproof material
And investigate the number of layers of bulletproof material at a thickness of material that bulletproof clothing items published in the United States to determine the structure of the prototype design of bulletproof clothing. Pre-survey of selling prices and material prices have been done in the United States.
(3) Comparative study of bulletproof material
The material for body armor made with experimental research and development field, "Ballistic Resistance test"(Impact test of protection) to the end of year 2010 conducted by some of items, the performance level of compliance with NIJ developed bulletproof material evaluate whether the underlying conduct. The test of bulletproof material has been conducted in January 2011 based on NIJ standard.
(4) Basic evaluation tests of BTC ceramics
Transverse strength of the material has been evaluated by Electron microscopy, the strength of the original plan is achieved characteristics (hardness rush, hardness flow) or evaluation tests are better than competitive materials that are used in the current. Properties have been evaluated and characterized.
