本研究開発は、腕時計で使われてきた自動巻き機構をベースに、収穫した振動などのエネルギーを一旦、力として蓄え(電池でなく)、その上で必要に応じ、再発電し負荷に供給する仕組みの「電池に代わる新世代エネルギーモジュール」の技術開発を行うものである。本年度は、「エネルギーハーベスト機構:回転錘の高効率化研究開発」、「蓄力機構:香箱(金属ぜんまい)の高エネルギー密度化研究開発」を中心にフェーズAとしての内容を実施した。
【1】「エネルギーハーベスト機構:回転錘の高効率化研究開発」
(a)人体動作の測定・解析:
センサを用いたモーションロガーを製作し、実際に人体に装着し、多数回測定を行い、データを解析し、所見を得た(画像1、図1、2を参照)。その結果、かつて自動巻き時計が主流であった当時の設計として、4Hz 程度の動きを主体に想定するという認識に対して、初期の積極活動での測定ではやはり同様のデータが見られたが、実執務に近い状況でデータを積み重ねたところ、実は0.2~0.4Hz 程度の周波
数にピークがあることが判った。これに関しては、SEIKO のメンバとも協議した、やはり現代人の業務環境の変化があり、「パソコン主体の作業であまり動かなくなっている」ということで認識の一致を見た。一方、携帯音響機器等を想定した測定では、Z 軸方向(人体の立ち位置方向)のモーションが加速度・周波数成分ともに大きく、これを収穫すべしという指針が得られた。
英文要約In these years, several kinds of new schemes which utilize the environment sustainable energies are proposed. Those are, for example, consisted of as followings. Energy harvesting (e.g. Human body vibration), and then Generate electricity, and then Storage to battery, and then Supply to load. However the system utilizes the sustainable energies, it needs the rechargeable battery. It doesn’t save natural resources. Our new concept is originated from the technology of wrist watch auto-winding system. The system is consisted of as following. Energy harvesting (e.g. Human body vibration), and then Storage to spring (as kinetic energy), and then Generate electricity (only the necessity), and then Supply to load. The system has the advantages such as, “no use of rechargeable battery (real saving natural resources)”, “not need high performance generator”, etc. In this fiscal year, feasibility studies which were focused in the energy harvesting mechanism and the storage spring mechanism were carried out. First, the human body motion measuring, data logging and the analysis were done. And then, through the computer simulation, new structure of an oscillating weight as an energy harvesting mechanism was carefully studied. Also, through making the test mock-up model of the new structure oscillating weight and measuring the model, finally as a result, very progressive new architecture of energy harvesting mechanism was obtained which can harvest the 3-dimensional human motions (x, y, z-axis), while the conventional mechanism could harvest only a 1-dimensional motion. And as another results, novel Si-MEMS (Micro Electro Mechanical System) structure as the storage spring mechanism was successfully achieved, which is consisted of very high aspect ratio thin Si belt. Releasing the structure, winding and measuring the torque were also successfully achieved. Those results are very promising evidences to achieve the whole system of our new concept energy module. Regarding the new architecture of energy harvesting mechanism, we have already applied a patent. The other items which were scheduled in the research plan, such as the considering the basic concept of the transfer wheel-gear mechanism, electricity generating mechanism and the control electric circuits were carried out and all of those expected results were obtained.
