【2】翼形状の検討
平成22 年7 月から工学院大学で所有しているミニチュアモデルを参考に小型モデル用の翼を加工し、事前にスケール効果の予測や傾向などを把握、その後風洞施設に対応する小型モデル(翼長1m 程度)の翼形状の検討を行った。平成22 年11 月末には工藤建設にて小型モデル用の基本構想図面を作成した。

(1) Material Selection
We created a demo version of the windmill with the maximum thickness of the flat plate wing comparing five types of material [FRP (glass fiber), FRP (vinylon fiber), aluminum, iron and wood]. The results showed that the FRP(vinylon fiber) were the best.

(2) Price Survey
Blade price was investigated and found that the iron was the cheapest material. However, from the results of (1) experiment, we have chosen FRP materials, which cost 1.5 times of the iron.

2.Design, Implementation and performance evaluation of wind power generator Small model of wind tunnel test was conducted. The following results were obtained.
a.Starting wind speed was 2.61m/s however, taking into the considering of the effects of wind turbulence enhancement unit and the Reynolds number; it is possible to achieve 0.5m/s.
b.The effect of turbulence promoting device was confirmed to be tremendous.
c.When the blades spin at high-speed, there is a remarkable shift in the shaft that the dynamic balancing was found to be an important factor.
d.From the Hysteresis test, the accelerating of wind speed lead to the destruction of the windmill and resistance mode of cycle ratio below 1 must be switched to lift mode of more than1.
e.Due to the change in wind direction, the speed of the windmill may increase. Therefore, suppression algorithm must be programmed.
From these finding, we are resolving the issues listed below.
A.With miniature models there is a scaling effect. Thus it is required to test with the actual size of the windmill.
B.To prevent high speed rotation ratio, inclusion of breaking system need to be considered for safety.
C.Switching functions of Windmill's lift power and resistance power's algorithm are required.
D.It is required to design blades that do not break even the wind speed ratio reaches 4.
E.There need to be a method to control the dynamic balance.

3.Business plan
(1)Vision
Since 1997, we have been developing "cross-flow style windmill" that does not get affected by multiple directions of wind as well as being safe. We have installed more than 100 windmills, however, as a power generator, the amount of power that can be produced is only 30W and this was an issue.
The windmill we are currently developing is a lift-power "straight wing vertical axis wind turbine" and can resolve these issues. This can generate 1to30kW, which currently is considered dead zone in Japan. With this generator, we can power supply isolated islands, places that could not previously installed solar power generator from salt damages becomes possible. This windmill can help countries where power is not easily accessible as well.
