英文要約Title:Development of remote monitoring system of hot spring water quality for coexistence with geothermal power generation (FY2014-FY2017) FY2016 Annual Report

Coexistence of hot springs with geothermal power generation is one of the critical issues to be solved in Japan, where a number of citizens had benefit from the hot springs from a long time ago. We have been developing a new remote monitoring system of quality and quantity of the hot springs to establish scientific interpretation of relation between hot springs and geothermal power generation.

In FY2016, we have mainly made the following studies and development:
(a) Prototypes for field experiment have been designed and manufactured following tests of the 1st prototype. Performance of one of the prototypes has been evaluated using laboratory performance evaluation system which was fabricated in FY2014.
(b) Sites for field experiment have been investigated, and 9 locations mainly in Tohoku and Kyushu has been decided. After contract and necessary procedure, we have started field experiment. Points of future improvement have been identified through the experiments. Quality of data have been evaluated by comparison with on-site measurement.
(c) Feasibility study for self-standing power supply has been continued.
(d) Conceptional design of commercial model has been started.

Two meetings with external experts were held in this period for evaluation and comments for this project.
