英文要約For promoting use of biomass energy, it is necessary for the optimal system with utilizing regional characteristics and effective use of heat. Furthermore, since current domestic biomass supply and its system is NOT adequate, it takes time for getting the influence of domestic forestry policy improvement.
There are various issues besides above. For example, the establishment and application of effective prevention for feeding damage of seedlings by wild birds and beasts and the cesium issue of agriculture and forest land of Tohoku region.
The objectives of this project are shortening of foster period, reducing of working amount for maintenance and increasing of supply by using fast growing trees for biomass tips / pellets. The optimization of biomass ash utilization technology and considering sustainability are also included.
Finally, the feasibility of whole systems will be evaluated and verified by selecting suitable fast growing trees, optimizing biomass ash utilization technology and designing tips / pellets plant.

(1) Procurement of biomass
1) Fostering and selecting of fast growing trees
The test area will be selected, and it would be prepared in this April. Test seedlings were selected, and arrangement method was revealed. The suitable method of seedling planting, for example single or mixing planting, is under selecting. The detail of seedling planting method is decided according to the conventional method. It is under considering.

In FY 2019, there are following issues.
2) Increasing supply capacity
3) Improvement of income for forestry

4) Investigation of residual cesium
The pharmacokinetic property of radioactive cesium in fast growing trees is under investigation. The basic information for the evaluation of feasibility is obtained by continuation of this investigation.

(2) Study of energy conversion
This theme is issue of FY 2019.

(3) Study of energy utilization technology
In planned whole systems, heat for producing pellets is supplied by combination of ORC-CHP (Organic Rankine Cycle - Combined Heat and Power) and belt-dryer. Impact and predominance of this combination to whole system is considering in “(4) Investigation of whole system”

(4) Investigation of whole system
1) Investigation and selecting suitable fast growing trees
The candidates of fast growing trees were listed. The characteristics and basic information of the candidates is under gathering from literatures and experts. In current condition, test fast growing trees is Cunninghamia lanceolate.

2) Investigation of biomass ash utilization technology
It is under gathering basic information. It is revealed that Procurement of enough biomass ash for test is difficult because ash content of biomass is very low. The biomass utilization technology is depending on kinds of trees because the ash content is different.
