1. Basic Technology to Utilize Secure Cryptographic Unit (SCU) for IoT Systems and Devices
- Developed the system construction environment with the disclosure and licensing of 1st-period SIP research achievements.
- Conducted the practical design of SCU and designed the application model system for embedded devices.
- Started to examine the specifications of SCU application model system for miniature embedded devices.
- Examined research environment for SCU application model system of encrypted search.

2. Research on Security Countermeasure Technologies and Hardware Trojan (HT) Countermeasures
- Researched side channel attack methods based on literature surveys and conference presentations.
- Designed the thick film formation process of back wiring on a chip and the security resistance evaluation environment against electromagnetic wave irradiation.
- Investigated the details of the assumptions and conditions that enable HT detection on a board.
- Constructed HT sensing system on a board.
- Collected HT-related European research information of “Report of the State of Art, Methodology-Security Certification Approach”.

3. Development of Security Assurance Scheme
- Organized and listed attack methods and vulnerabilities related to IC card and smart card, by surveying papers from major conferences such as CARDIS and materials related to the required specifications issued by IPA.
- Documented the research report of evaluation model definitions and security functional requirements for existing embedded devices.
- Conducted discussions and investigations based on the current status and issues in existing certification systems, such as CMVP and ISO-IEC15408.
