Technology development project for expanding photovoltaic power generation
Project overview
Project period: FY2025 to FY2029, budget: 3.05 billion yen (FY2026)
This project aims to develop Japan’s photovoltaic (PV) industry and related sectors by developing high value-added products and systems, promoting the large-scale deployment of photovoltaic power generation systems, and ensuring their long-term operation. At the same time, from the perspective of building a circular economy, the project promotes manufacturing with reduced resource consumption and encourages resource reuse through recycling and related approaches. Through these efforts, the project will contribute to the realization of carbon neutrality by 2050, while addressing challenges such as resource constraints, coexistence with local communities, stable energy supply, and decarbonization.
