Addressing labor shortages at construction sites through a construction-specific World Model
Business Plan
Our company is a technology startup that brings together researchers and developers in AI, 3D computer vision, and robotics under the mission of “transforming core industries through Physical AI.”
We aim to create sustainable competitiveness and added value in real-world industries, including the construction sector, which faces structural challenges due to labor shortages.
By shifting from labor-intensive to intelligence-driven operations, we seek to enhance the resilience of essential services, improve national productivity, and enable Japanese companies to integrate on-site expertise with AI to lead global markets.
In this R&D project, we target the elimination of structural labor shortages and dependence on individual expertise in the construction industry, enabling high-quality management and execution regardless of experience level.
To achieve this, we will develop a construction-specific World Model that automatically and accurately evaluates the consistency between on-site 3D environments and design drawings and manuals.
Research Outline
In this R&D project, we will develop a construction-specific World Model based on high-quality 360-degree video and drawing data collected from over 8,000 sites where our existing product “zenshot” has been deployed.
This will enable both site managers and on-site workers to achieve high-quality management and construction regardless of skill level or experience, across any type of site, thereby addressing structural challenges in the construction industry.
The specific development items are as follows:
- Development of a 3D spatial generation model specialized for construction sites
- Development of a multimodal AI capable of recognizing and understanding drawings and construction manuals
- Development of a multimodal AI that evaluates consistency between on-site 3D environments and drawings/manuels
These developments will be carried out through PoC activities with housing manufacturers and other partners.
By the end of the program, trial deployment of zenWorld at actual construction sites is planned at more than 10 companies, including major housing manufacturers.
