The environment in which innovation takes place is undergoing a transformation. Due to rapid advances in AI and digital technology, the expanding role of startups, and more intense global competition, it is increasingly important not only to develop technologies, but also to accelerate their adoption in society.
As NEDO's think tank, the Technology and Innovation Strategy Center (TSC) provides intelligence and strategic insights to support policy development and promote technological innovation. By undertaking initiatives such as our report Innovation Outlook, we identify emerging frontier fields and chart their paths as their technology advances and ultimately impacts society.
Our insights are shared with policymakers, industry leaders, startups, financial institutions, and international partners, fostering collaboration across the innovation ecosystem and contributing to the realization of a sustainable and prosperous society driven by innovation.
- KISHIMOTO Kikuo, Ph.D.
- KISHIMOTO Kikuo was born in Tokyo, Japan in 1952. His academic and professional career was spent at Tokyo Institute of Technology. After becoming a research associate there in 1977, he went on to receive his Doctor of Engineering degree in 1982. He became an associate professor in 1989 and a full professor in 1995, holding posts such as Vice President and Dean of the School of Environment and Society. He was a Visiting Research Fellow at the University of Cambridge and was named Professor Emeritus in 2018. In April 2020, he was appointed Executive Director of NEDO’s Technology Strategy Center.
