Dr. YUMITORI Shuji
Executive Director

Dr. YUMITORI Shuji is the Executive Director of NEDO overseeing the Project Management Department, the Startup Support Department, and the International Projects Department.

Dr. Yumitori joined Kobe Steel, Ltd. in April 1985 and has been engaged in research and development of carbon fiber and carbon fiber reinforced plastics. He joined NEDO in July 2001 after studying abroad at School of Material Science at Sheffield University in the UK and working at Kobe Steel Europe, Ltd. After engaging in research and development projects in the materials, environment, storage battery and medical fields, he became the Director General of the Robotics and Mechanical Systems Department in 2014, and the Director General of the Robotics and AI Department in 2016.

Dr. Yumitori received his master's degree in applied chemistry from Waseda University Graduate School in March 1985. He also received a PhD from Doshisha University in March 2016.
