HAYASHI Shigekazu

Mr. HAYASHI Shigekazu is the Executive Director of NEDO overseeing the Biotechnology and Materials Department, the Automotive and Storage Battery Department, and the Aerospace Department.

Mr. Hayashi joined Suzuki Motor Corporation in 1991 and worked in research and development of organic materials and recycling technology, and later project management in a wide range of technical fields.
In 2000, he was selected by Suzuki Motor Corporation to be seconded to NEDO planning and coordination office for two years. In this role, he focused on creating the organization’s first internal business manual.
In 2005, he joined NEDO and started his career as an officer in charge of public relations support and training programs for small and startup companies. After that, he led several development projects such as battery, smart grid, and autonomous driving technology. After 2021, he held two Director General positions that focused on robotics, artificial intelligence, materials, and biotechnology.

Mr. Hayashi graduated from the Graduate School of Science and Engineering, Chuo University in 1991.
