Mr. MASUDA Susumu is an Executive Director at NEDO. He oversees the Semiconductor and Information Infrastructure Department, the Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Department, the Aerospace Department, and the Post-5G Projects Promotion Office.

Mr. Masuda previously worked for SMBC Group, where he served as Chief Strategy Officer, Chief Compliance Officer, Chief Information and Technology Officer for Global Markets at SMBC Nikko Securities, and Senior Managing Executive Officer. He spent the majority of his career in the Global Markets Division, handling investments and asset liability management at SMBC, and the fixed income sales and trading business at SMBC Nikko Securities.

Mr. Masuda received his bachelor’s degree from Keio University’s Faculty of Economics in 1989.
