About NEDO and Washington D.C. Office

As Japan’s largest public RD&D management organization, New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO) promotes the research, development and demonstration of energy, environmental and industrial technologies. With an approximately $1.3 billion annual budget, along with a $60 billion fund including the Green Innovation fund, Moonshot R&D Program, Bio manufacturing fund, Post 5G fund and Deep-Tech Startups Support Program etc., NEDO’s activities range from Hydrogen and Ammonia, Circular Economy, Semiconductor and Information Infrastructure, AI and Robotics, Quantum computing, Biotechnology and Materials, Automotive and Storage Battery, Aerospace and more.

At the Washington D.C. Office, we are working on promoting U.S.-Japan collaboration. Our principal roles are below.

  • General coordination regarding promotion of US/Japan collaborative projects
  • Information exchange and consultation on research and development of the fields mentioned above
  • Public relations
