Ceremony Held to Commemorate Launch of Energy Management System in Guangdong Province China

On July 24, 2019, NEDO, together with Yokogawa Electric Corporation, Japan Research Institute Limited, and Tokyo Electric Power Company Holdings, Inc., held a ceremony in Guangdong Province, China, to commemorate the launch of operations for an energy management system (EMS) installed under a NEDO demonstration project.

In this project, a state-of-the-art EMS has been installed at a textile spinning mill factory and an aluminum product factory in order to significantly reduce their use of energy. In addition, the project will verify the feasibility of demand response by coordinating demand of the two factories through the EMSs.

At the ceremony, the Chinese side was represented by Deputy Director-General Ren Xianguang, National Development and Reform Commission, and Director Yan Xiaodong, Development and Reform Commission of Guangdong Province. On the Japanese side, Deputy Consul General Toshiyuki Daishoji, Consulate-General of Japan in Guangzhou, and Deputy Director-General Shuji Kasuya, JETRO Guangzhou Office, attended the ceremony. NEDO Executive Director Yoshiteru Sato also attended the ceremony along with representatives of several other stakeholders in the project.
