NEDO Holds Symposium on Interoperability for Safe Drone Operations

On July 26, 2019, NEDO held a symposium on the topic of interoperability for safe drone operations.

At the symposium, held at the Fukushima Robot Test Field, NEDO Chairman Hiroaki Ishizuka delivered opening remarks noting society's high expectations for the usage of drones. Following these remarks, the results of research conducted under the "Drones and Robots for Ecologically Sustainable Societies (DRESS) Project" were presented by project representatives. The symposium also featured a panel discussion, which included the participation of legal experts, and a lively discussion ensued regarding the importance of operational management systems for drones.

The symposium was highly successful with more than 100 people, including representatives of companies and organizations involved with drone operations in Fukushima Prefecture, in attendance.
