"2019 Strategy for International Standardization - Exit Strategies of Developments Joint Symposium" Held in Tokyo

On December 5, 2019, NEDO, together with the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST), the National Institute of Technology and Evaluation (NITE), and the MONODZUKURI Nippon Conference, held the 2019 Strategy for International Standardization and Exit Strategies of Developments Joint Symposium in Tokyo The symposium addressed international standardization for bioplastics, cellulose nanofibers, and marine biodegradability evaluation methods expected to help address environmental problems such as marine pollution caused by plastic waste

At the symposium, Professor ISOBE Atsuhiko of Kyushu University's Research Institute for Applied Mechanics provided a special lecture, and a keynote speech was provided by Mr. YOKOTE Hiroki, Director, Resource Efficiency and Circular Economy Division, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. Various experts also introduced technology development and international standardization activities related to marine biodegradable plastics and cellulose nanofibers.
