On January 30, 2019, NEDO and the Cabinet Office of Japan held a symposium at the Tokyo Big Sight international exhibition center regarding the Innovative Design/Manufacturing Technologies project taking place under the Cross-Ministerial Strategic Innovation Promotion Program (SIP). In addition, for three days from January 30 to February 1, NEDO and the Cabinet Office organized an exhibit regarding the SIP project at the "nano tech 2019" trade show held at Tokyo Big Sight.

At the symposium, Program Director Naoya Sasaki and representatives carrying out work on the project's twelve research themes made presentations regarding the project's recent research results and future prospects.

At the trade show exhibit, specific SIP project results, focusing on Laser coating, Gel 3D printer, and Rubber 3D printer, were displayed, and new types of manufacturing were introduced.
