"NEDO Technology Commercialization Program 2018 Final Competition" Held in Tokyo

On January 25, 2019, NEDO held its Technology Commercialization Program (TCP) 2018 Final Competition in Tokyo where R&D-focused startups and entrepreneurs made presentations regarding their business plans.

TCP is a NEDO program created to support startups, entrepreneurs, and researchers with an interest in entrepreneurship that would like to start or greatly expand their business through the utilization of NEDO projects. At this year's event, NEDO selected 17 teams from among 190 teams. In order to attract financing and potential business partners, the finalists made presentations on their business plans to an audience composed of approximately 200 investors and representatives of investment firms.

All the teams made energetic presentations that generated a great deal of excitement at the event venue. At the conclusion of the competition, the Grand Prize was awarded to Cosmic Ray Imaging of Nagoya University and Awards for Excellence were awarded to PLACTHICS of the Kyushu University Entrepreneurship Program and DiaBond of Yamagata University. Recipients were also selected for the Special Jury Award, the "Hello Tomorrow" Award, the Certified VC Award, and the Audience Award.
