Japan-Poland Clean Coal Technologies Seminar Held in Poland

On February 15, 2019, NEDO, together with the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, the Japan Coal Energy Center, and the Polish Ministry of Energy, jointly held the Japan-Poland Clean Coal Technologies Seminar in Poland.

At the seminar, NEDO Executive Director Shoji Kukita delivered remarks stressing the important role advanced technologies can play in addressing the problem of global warming. Over 130 persons from Poland and abroad participated in the symposium, including representatives of the Polish government, industry, and research institutions. Presentations were made on topics such as advanced thermal power technologies which can provide low-carbon solutions to address load fluctuations, environmental conditions, and the efficient utilization of CO₂. A question-and-answer session also took place at the seminar which resulted in a meaningful exchange of views. NEDO also participated in a public/private-sector discussion which included the Ambassador of Japan to Poland, Mr. Tsukasa Kawada, as well as Japanese and Polish government and business representatives.
