NEDO and Cabinet Office Hold IoT Society SIP-CPS Symposium 2019 for Cross-Ministerial Strategic Innovation Promotion Program (SIP) Research and Development Plan for Cyber Physical Security (CPS)

November 12, 2019

On October 31, 2019, NEDO and the Cabinet Office held a symposium for the SIP-CPS for IoT Society project.

The project, which was launched in fiscal year 2018, aims to develop and demonstrate a cyber-physical security platform that can be used to protect IoT systems/services in the entire supply chain, including small and medium-sized enterprises. The ultimate project goal is to bolster IoT society against cyber threats by embedding such a platform in operating supply chains. At the symposium, invited experts gave lectures on supply chain-related risks, and, under each program topic, presentations, exhibitions, and demonstrations were provided regarding project development results.

More than 250 people participated in the symposium, greatly exceeding the original capacity for attendance. The high number of attendees reflected the great interest in supply chain security risks and allowed for a meaningful exchange of views.

Some of the symposium materials will be made available at a later date on NEDO’s portal site for this project.
