NEDO Chairman Meets with Slovenian Government Delegation

On February 6, 2020, NEDO Chairman ISHIZUKA Hiroaki and NEDO Executive Director SATO Yoshiteru met at NEDO’s head office with a Slovenian government delegation visiting Japan for a Japan-Slovenia business seminar, organized by the Slovenian Ministry of Economic Development and Technology, and a meeting of the steering committee for the NEDO’s smart community demonstration project in Slovenia. The Slovenian delegation was led by State Secretary Aleš Cantarutti, Ministry of Economic Development and Technology, State Secretary Bojan Kumer, Ministry of Infrastructure, and H.E. Dr. Ana Polak Petrič, Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia to Japan.

At the meeting, both sides confirmed that the first phase of the smart community demonstration project had produced promising results, and NEDO expressed its great appreciation to the Slovenian government for its support thus far. For the second phase of the project, planned to be launched its demonstration in this year, the two sides confirmed they will continue to promote cooperation between demonstration project participants in order to ensure the project’s ultimate success and to promote its dissemination in Europe after its completion. Both sides also welcomed the demonstration project’s contribution to enhancing various forms of exchange between Japan and Slovenia.
