METI Minister Hagiuda Visits Tomakomai CCS Demonstration Project Center

On January 29, 2022, HAGIUDA Koichi, Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, visited the Carbon Dioxide Capture and Storage (CCS) Demonstration Project Center in Tomakomai City, Hokkaido Prefecture, where research and development and demonstration projects in the field of carbon dioxide capture, utilization and storage (CCUS) are being carried out. NEDO Chairman ISHIZUKA Hiroaki accompanied the Minister for his visit and provided a briefing on the current status and future directions for the development of technology related to the large-scale demonstration project taking place at the Tomakomai Center and the marine transportation of carbon dioxide.
