12th German-Japanese Environment and Energy Dialogue Forum Held in Berlin

On September 6-7, 2022, NEDO Chairman ISHIZUKA Hiroaki provided opening and closing remarks at the 12th German-Japanese Environment and Energy Dialogue Forum. The forum was held by NEDO in collaboration with the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) and the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety, and Consumer Protection (BMUV).

Under the forum theme of “The Role of Cities and Municipalities on the Way to Net Zero,” participants from industry, academia, as well as the Japanese and German governments, shared information regarding conceptual approaches, best practices, demonstration projects, and examples of innovative technologies in the areas of energy management, mobility, hydrogen utilization, and regional circular economies. Participants also discussed future actions to be taken in these areas.

During his remarks, Chairman Ishizuka highlighted NEDO activities aimed at realizing a sustainable society, such as the Green Innovation Fund.

The forum was held in a hybrid format with in-person participation at the main venue in Berlin, Germany. Approximately 340 people participated, indicating the high level of interest in the forum.
