A session held to commemorate the results of the demonstration project for Large-scale Hybrid Power Storage System in Lower Saxony, Germany.

On September 21, NEDO held a session in Berlin, jointly with the government of the German state of Lower Saxony (Niedersachsen in German), EWE AG, an energy supplier in the state, and be.storaged, an operator of the battery storage system, in order to commemorate the results of the demonstration project for Large-scale Hybrid Power Storage System.
The session started with opening address by NEDO Europe Office Director IMAZATO. And a total of 11 participants of those involved in the project from both Japan and Germany, including some members of NEDO Smart Community and Energy Systems Department, reported on project results, current initiatives, market trends, and new business development, followed by a lively Q&A session.
At the closing ceremony, speeches were delivered by the guests of honor, His Excellency Mr. YANAGI, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Germany, for the Japanese side and Ms. Behrens, Minister for Internal Affairs and Sport of the state of Lower Saxony, for the German side. And NEDO Executive Director YUMITORI introduced the overview of the demonstration project and the relationship between NEDO and Germany, pointing out that reciprocal cooperation to achieve carbon neutrality has recently become even more necessary.
