NEDO held a joint workshop with the Clean Hydrogen Joint Undertaking (CHJU)

NEDO held a joint workshop with the Clean Hydrogen Joint Undertaking (CHJU), the European Union (EU) public-private partnership, on the theme of “Hydrogen and Ammonia Combustion Technologies” on March 26, 2025, in Kobe, Japan, bringing together approximately 50 experts from Japan and the EU. Following the opening remarks by Dr. IIMURA Akiko, Executive Director of NEDO and Ms. Valerie BOUILLON-DELPORTE, Executive Director of CHJU, presentations were given on trends in hydrogen and ammonia combustion technologies as well as the latest initiatives by relevant companies and research institutions in both regions. Discussions were also held on the potential future collaboration between the EU and Japan.

This workshop was conducted as part of the activities under the collaboration arrangement concluded between NEDO and CHJU to accelerate the deployment of hydrogen technologies. NEDO will continue its contribution to the advancement of hydrogen technology development, working in collaboration with Europe, toward the realization of a hydrogen society.
