NEDO Exhibited at SITE 2026 and Extended Two Comprehensive Cooperation MOUs with Thailand's National Innovation Agency

NEDO exhibited at the Startup x Innovation Thailand Expo (SITE) 2026, one of Thailand’s largest startup events, held in Bangkok from June 25 to 27, 2026.

At the NEDO booth, three startup companies that had previously participated in NEDO projects showcased their research and development achievements through panels and prototypes. The booth also featured panel displays introducing NEDO’s R&D support schemes for startups and the outcomes of NEDO’s international demonstration projects in Thailand. In addition, on the event’s main stage, Mr. YOSHIDA Takeshi, Executive Director of NEDO, delivered a presentation introducing NEDO’s initiatives for decarbonization and startup support aimed at realizing a sustainable society.

During the event, Dr. Krithpaka Boonfueng, Executive Director of Thailand’s National Innovation Agency (NIA), and Mr. Yoshida signed amendments extending the validity of two comprehensive memoranda of understanding (MOUs) for an additional three years, through July 2029.

The two MOUs covered by the extension are:

・the Comprehensive Cooperation MOU on Energy, Environmental, and Industrial Technologies;

and

・the Comprehensive Cooperation MOU on Startup Support.

The Comprehensive Cooperation MOU on Energy, Environmental, and Industrial Technologies was originally signed in February 2015 to promote the exchange of information and collaborative activities in the fields of energy, environment, and industrial technologies. The Comprehensive Cooperation MOU on Startup Support was signed in July 2017 with the objective of fostering cooperation in the development and support of startup companies in Japan and Thailand. Under these MOUs, numerous international demonstration projects and startup support initiatives have been carried out over the years.

Through continued collaboration with NIA, NEDO will further strengthen bilateral cooperation between Japan and Thailand in the fields of innovation, industrial technology, and startup development.
