NEDO Executive Director Matsumoto Participates in the Japan-Saudi Energy Dialogue

Mr. MATSUMOTO Shintaro, Executive Director of NEDO, participated in the Japan-Saudi Energy Dialogue held on January 12, 2026, in Riyadh, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The dialogue was convened as a vice ministerial meeting between the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) of Japan and the Ministry of Energy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with the participation of government officials and representatives of relevant companies from both countries.
During the meeting, participants shared information on ongoing initiatives related to clean energy cooperation between Japan and Saudi Arabia and exchanged views on directions for further bilateral collaboration in this field.
Mr. MATSUMOTO presented an overview of the Demonstration Project for a Hybrid Renewable Energy System with Battery Storage in Huraymila, Riyadh Region, which NEDO launched in FY2025.
Through the promotion of technology development in the clean energy sector and international demonstration projects, NEDO will continue to contribute to the wider deployment of clean energy in Saudi Arabia and to the further deepening of cooperative relations between Japan and Saudi Arabia.
